We occasionally operated W1PO/MM from the S/V Sea Mist, a 56 foot Oyster flagged in the British Virgin Islands on a 10 year around the world cruise. Here, she is docked in Rhodes, Greece as we sailed the Greek Islands. She was sold to an Australian sailor in 2016. The captain VE9SEA is now a silent key.
The "shack" aboard Sea Mist was fully HF and VHF equipped. On HF an Icom M-802 fully synthesized radio provided 150 watts output through an Icom AT-140 tuner to the sailboat 65 foot back stay antenna. Here I am on 15 meters SSB as W1PO/SV5 from Rhodes. The captain John, VE9SEA was the usual operator from this shack. Seamist made her mark around the world and proved to be a rugged sailboat on the seven seas.
