The "shack" is a Riverbend Eastern Canadian Cedar log home situated on about 96 acres overlooking the Bay of Fundy. The home and 5 acres were sold in 2017 after 20 plus years of enjoyment.
The view from the deck looking across the Bay of Fundy towards the Nova Scotia coastline. Pocologan Island is in the center. The Carolina 160 Windom slopes down towards the shore which is about
300 yards from the house. The take off angle to Europe is excellent on all bands.
The Cushcraft R-7 was tuned perfectly for 40-10 meters and had a nice low take off angle in all directions. Since this was a portable location, most of the gear was carried from NH when we were up here. The Yaesu FT-450/AT was used on 160 - 6 meters with an MFJ Versa tuner and an Ameritron 811 amplifier running 300 watts to either the R-7 or the Carolina 160 windom. Occasionally I brought up the Norcal 40A for a little QRP work on 40 meters. I will miss operating from this shack although my brother-in-law VE9SEA (silent key) built a 4000 square foot home on the adjacent land in retirement that can be used for portable operation if we so choose.
