First licensed as a novice in 1961 as WV2SXE I spent a few years getting my code speed up to 25 WPM. I passed the General in 1962 and was issued WA2SXE in Tonawanda, NY. I upgraded to Advanced
and entered military service in the US Air Force in 1968. Assigned to SAC, 2nd Bomb Wing, Detachment 10, 1st Combat Evaluation Group I worked as an Automatic Tracking Radar Specialist and
Aircraft Controller on a Radar Bomb Scoring Crew while still keeping my CW alive listening nightly on the site R-390A. I belonged to the Keesler Amateur Radio Club, K5TYP in Biloxi, MS. I left
the Air Force after one tour and relocated to Buffalo as WA2SXE, and then on to Chicago as WB9IAV for 3 years working for Shure Brothers and Motorola C&E. Back to Syracuse, NY as WA2WVB and
then N2BD in Buffalo with Motorola. In 1978 I received a BS Degree from the University of Buffalo, joined the Bell Telephone System and then relocated to St. Louis as N2BD/0 with
Southwestern Bell. I relocated to NH in 1980 with New England Telephone. After 15 years with Markem Corp. and 15 years with Fidelity Investments, I retired in 2012. I received the call sign W1PO
in 2002. I have also held the calls VK2CZS in Sydney, Australia, VK2CZS/8 in Alice Springs, Australia, VK2CZS/7 in Hobart, Tasmania, ZL0AKY in Auckland, NZ, EA8/N2BD in the Canary Islands,
P40/N2BD in Aruba, FO/N2BD in Tahiti, N2BD/KH6 in Hawaii, EI/W1PO in Crosshaven, Ireland, W1PO/VE9 in Canada and W1PO/MM aboard the S/V Sea Mist, a 56 Ft Oyster on an around the world cruise. I
also hold the FCC First Class Commercial Radiotelephone License with Ship Radar Endorsement (now called the General Commercial Radiotelephone License). I received a Master of Science Degree
from Southern NH University in 2001 and am on staff as Adjunct Faculty at a local community college.
